Assistant Cook

Contract: 33.75 hours per week, Term-time only
Salary: Grade 3 (£19,125 per annum)

Are you passionate about great food and making a difference in a school community? We are looking for a friendly, motivated Assistant Cook to join our busy catering team at Fisher More.

About the Role
As our Assistant Cook, you will play a key role in providing healthy, enjoyable meals for our students and staff. Working alongside the Catering Manager and kitchen team, you will help prepare, cook, and serve a varied menu each day while ensuring the kitchen runs smoothly and safely.

Key Responsibilities
• Preparing ingredients and assisting with the cooking of daily meals.
• Supporting with service during busy lunch periods.
• Maintaining high standards of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness.
• Safely operating catering equipment.
• Helping to prepare and clear dining areas.
• Supporting the Catering Manager and deputising when required.
• Providing friendly, caring customer service to all students and staff.

About You
We are looking for someone who is:
• Reliable, hardworking, and a great team player.
• Passionate about food and committed to high standards.
• Able to follow instructions and work independently when needed.
• Friendly and approachable with good communication skills.
• Experienced in catering (desirable but not essential training can be provided).
