Students Celebrate “Best Ever” GCSE Results!
Students, staff, and families at Fisher More are celebrating a fantastic set of GCSE results this summer, with over two-thirds of pupils achieving a pass in both English and Maths. An impressive 67% of pupils achieved a grade 4 pass or above, with 43% reaching a strong pass of grade 5 or higher.
This year marks the school’s best ever pupil attainment in terms of key indicators, and the community is rightly proud of the hard work, resilience, and determination shown by its young people.
Among the many individual successes were:
Anastasija, who achieved an incredible seven grade 9s across English Language, English Literature, Chemistry, History, Physics, and Religious Education.
Henry, who secured grade 9s in English Language, English Literature, Mathematics, and Religious Education.
Julia, who achieved grade 9s in English Language, English Literature, Religious Education, and BTEC Sport.
In addition, 10 pupils achieved a grade 9 in Religious Education, and 19% of the cohort achieved grades 7 or above in English Language — a reflection of the school’s commitment to academic excellence.
These outstanding outcomes are the result not only of pupils’ determination but also of the dedication of staff, alongside new initiatives such as the school’s Revision Hub and a sharper focus on revision strategies for Year 11.
Headteacher Mr Dugdale said
“We are exceptionally proud of every one of our students. Each of them has been on a unique journey during their time at Fisher More, and today’s GCSE results — what we believe to be the best in our school’s history — are a testament to their resilience, determination, and hard work.
These outstanding achievements reflect the strength of our whole school community. Students, staff, and families have supported one another every step of the way, and this collective effort has led to success that we are all thrilled to celebrate.
As our learners now take their next steps into sixth form, college, apprenticeships, and beyond, they do so with confidence that they leave Fisher More equipped not only with excellent qualifications, but also with the skills, values, and self-belief to thrive in whatever comes next.”
